… explorer of alternate physical ways to communicate math, science, engineering to students
I am a future…
… inventor of useful everyday stuff (let me know if you have any good ideas ;) )
… happy fulfilling member of society (one could hope)
… resident of a large Asian city (back to Hong Kong?)

Areas of Interest
Consumer products, manufacturing, gender differences in the workplace, cube toys, brain science, woodwind instruments, discount classical music on vinyl, anthropology, usability engineering, Asia, business travel, basketball, marketing, celebrity gossip, herbal remedies, romance novels, Batman, teaching high school physics, robotics, yoga.

Random Facts
I like to dream about being a mascot for a professional sports team. Especially if my shoes and tail are cute like Rocky (the mountain lion mascot for the Denver Nuggets) and I get to pull ridiculous stunts like sitting on a toilet with my back to Kobe Bryant:

Favorite Foods
Noodle soups and fruit.  and macaroni and cheese!

Favorite Female Superhero/Action Hero/Any Hero
I dig Kate Beckinsale in Underworld. Its terrible, but hilarious, and she kills a lot of people.

Also, these bad-girl sidekicks in furry sweatsuits make me fall down laughing.  From Batman the Animated Series, “Cold Comfort” with Mr. Freeze.  This episode aired in 1997, which makes me wonder — can we trace the inspiration and creation of Uggs to these characters?  No one had seen a flat fuzzy mid-ankle boot back then… until these too-cold-to-be-hot henchwomen appeared with their freezing guns and left a lasting impression. Not to mention the leg-baring furry hoodie-dresses, which are not unlike the sweaterdresses appearing everywhere this Fall.
The bad girls who keep Mr. Freeze up to his cold shenanigans

My Spirit Animal Would Be…
A tapir when i’m sad:

An owl for everything else:
